WThe woodland north of the house
The forest north of the farmhouse: in our case, part of Parcel A, held with the house since 1877.
1902 · 1955 · 1988 · 1994 · 2005
Now: Coed Creigiaidd (16.4 ha, in Llandough, 138 m from the farm) and Coed Cwm Cydfin; owned since 1994, by the reported chain, through Forest of Cardiff.
A virtual plaque. There is none on the ground. Sources: each entry below.
The Bute coppice-woods sale of 29 November 1902 lists “Cwm Cydfin Wood (Leckwith and Llandough)”. The family’s memory is of “the forest, 1955”. The press of 1990 names Coed Cwm Cydfin and Coed Creigiaidd among seven woods passing from the Land Authority for Wales to South Glamorgan County Council; the register for WA735527 records a transfer to Forest of Cardiff on 10 November 1994 and an excision to Goldsworthy Homes on 2 December 2005. Not one plan in that chain is held: every link between these records is unproven. Our case, prospective. Not a finding of any court.
